Zoe Ghanbari Sets New Personal Bests in 200m and 400m In Season Opener
Dec 19, 2024Ypsilanti, MI – Fourteen-year-old Zoe Ghanbari is making waves in the track and field world after an impressive performance at the LAB Indoor Meet #1, held at the Lincoln Athletic Building on December 14, 2024. Competing in her first meet of the season, Zoe set two new personal bests: 27.94 in the 200-meter dash, improving from her previous best of 28.73, and 1:02.90 in the 400-meter dash, smashing her previous best of 1:04.07.
Zoe joined the LEAP Squad Virtual Team last year after completing a digital video analysis with Coach Keinan Briggs, which immediately built trust in his coaching methods. Following an intense off-season training program, Zoe has already begun to see the results of her hard work.
“She is very determined and passionate,” said Coach Keinan Briggs. “I know she’s going to do big things this year.”
Zoe’s father echoed this sentiment, praising the LEAP Squad Virtual Team for its focus on both physical and mental training. “The mental aspect has really shown a great impact on Zoe,” he shared. “It’s amazing to see her confidence and growth on and off the track.”
Currently ranked #7 in Michigan according to Milesplit.com, Zoe is gearing up for a breakout season. Her next big goal? Qualifying for the New Balance Indoor Nationals, where she’ll need to clock 1:01.50 in the 400 meters. With her recent progress and dedication, Zoe is well on her way to achieving this milestone and more.
Zoe, who dreams of competing in the Olympics, credits her training and support system for her early success. “I’m super excited about this season and can’t wait to see what I can accomplish,” she said.
