LEAP Squad Shines at Los Alamitos All-Comers – Winter Championship Qualifiers!

LEAP Squad had an outstanding performance this weekend at the Los Alamitos All-Comers meet, with several athletes earning top marks and qualifying for the Winter Championships! From explosive jumps to fast sprints, our athletes showed up and showed out. Here’s a recap of the remarkable finishes:
Marquee Finishers and Personal Bests:
- Skyler Cazale ('25) made an impact with a stellar 16'6" in the long jump and an impressive 36'9" in the triple jump, both securing her spot for the Winter Championships.
- Ben Green ('26) displayed his dominance in the triple jump with a 40'11" jump that earned him a spot in the championships.
- Sierra Benedict ('25), also hitting a new personal best of 34'4" in the triple jump, added her name to the list of qualifiers. This is a 1 foot personal best improvement.
- Chloe Yang ('24) took her place in the Winter Championships with a solid 8.35 in the 60m dash, while Max Do ('25) clocked a qualifying time of 9.38 in the 60m hurdles.
A Special Shoutout:
- Nyla Johnson (11 yrs) absolutely crushed it in the high jump, clearing 3'11" and showing the poise and skill of an elite athlete!
College-Aged Athletes Dominate:
- Roxy Meyers displayed her versatility and skill, winning three jump events, with her standout mark being a 38'8" in the triple jump—a performance that left everyone in awe!
- Andrew Robinson also showcased his talent with an impressive triple jump performance of 46'9.
What’s Next:
LEAP Squad is set to compete this coming weekend at the Redondo Union meet, which will serve as the final qualifying opportunity for the Winter Championships. The squad is ready to bring their best and close out the qualification period with even more impressive performances.
